Men's 6-18 League
The Sickleholme 6 -18 Foursomes team were back in action last night. On a glorious sunny evening it was great to be back home again, this week's opponents were Roundwood Golf Club.
Even though early on in the season, this represented a tough fixture, with Roundwood starting the night top of the division, 2 points ahead of ourselves. Although they had played two games more.
The first two games went all the way to the 18th. Unfortunately, the first match went in the way of Roundwood as they won that 1 up.
The 2nd match, our boys managed to win the 18th to secure a point, as that match finished all square.
In the back two matches we were fortunate to be a little more comfortable with wins of 3&2 and 5&4 respectively.
Final result - Sickleholme 5 v 3 Roundwood
The course looked wonderful last night and all the visiting players spoke of how lucky we were to have it as our home course. As well as playing, Ben then treated us to a wonderful meal afterwards.
With other results filtering through on the night, this meant that we were now tied at the top of the division with Roundwood with 2 games in hand, a fabulous start to the season. (Table attached below)
