The ladies celebrated Sickleholme Golf Clubs 125th Anniversary in style today with a traditional afternoon tea…
A shotgun Florida scramble was played durinf the morning….the prize winners received gorgeous plants for their efforts.
Lady Captain Anne delivered a very well researched talk about ladies golf over the past 125 years. The rules implemented during the war years were especially humorous!
It was good to know that if your ball was damaged or destroyed by a bomb, another could be played without penalty!!! Members were also encouraged to remove shrapnel from the fairways so the lawnmowers wouldn’t get damaged!
Women’s golf has certainly come a long way since Mary Queen of Scots graced the greens!
Here’s to the next 125 years!
